That's fair. Little kids wouldn't get the nuance. It's enough for me that

they are taught to respect other people and the 3Rs. But in high school, as a teacher you certainly could posit some of these weighty issues and you absolutely should!

Now, I happen to think this bullshit CRT issue is about more than that. The politicos pushing it just want votes. Most of the voters have no clue what it is in the first place, but what it does do without a doubt is play to white fear and resentment about what little Johnny and Suzie might learn that will warp their little minds. For many of them, if it isn't about Jesus and about how the Founders were demi-gods creating a Christian nation and about how perfect everything was before libs starting somehow fucking it up. ;)

I also think there is some gay stuff in there that pisses people off. Why I don't know. Same sex marriage has been legal in all fifty states for a while now and the kids are likely to know or have a friend with two moms or two dads.
